A Task-Driven Redesign that Improved Field Efficiency by 50% for SaaS

A 0-1 product redesign built to support low-digital literacy field staff working constantly on the move.

Task Success Optimization

Workflow Redesign

Overview

Staffacare is a mobile tool used by field staff to complete assigned jobs, log expenses, and report daily operational data.

Despite high adoption, its legacy interface had become a bottleneck, introducing friction, slowing down daily workflows and increasing cognitive load for users operating in challenging, high movement environments.

This project aimed to modernize the app without breaking years of muscle memory, improve the two most frequently used workflows, and ensure the product remained usable for teams with low digital literacy®

Man Walking

Problem

The Legacy app surfaced every possible action on a dense, grid-like homepage.

For on-ground workers, this created:

  • High cognitive Load, especially for users with low digital literacy

  • Unclear hierarchy, forcing users to translate jobs to actions

  • Slow Navigation, with common actions buried across multiple steps.

  • Inefficiency during travel, sunlight, and unstable physical environments

In Short:

The app was option-first. The users were task-First.

This mental-model mismatch was the core problem.es this disconnect and aims to redefine legal spaces, transforming them into environments that align with the sophistication and efficiency of today’s legal practices.

What we Learnt (Key Insights)

01 — Users don't browse. They look for the next step

Field staff navigate workflows, not UI's. The Grid forced them to "figure out" where to go, instead of showing the next logical action.
